Does anyone know where there is a good drip waterfall in Kansas?

There is ice to climb in Kansas, if the weather is just right. It takes good ground mosture followed by at least a week of cloudy continous sub freezing weather.
Saturday, Janurary 9, 2010, the drip waterfall on the Elk River Hiking Trail had a climbable ice formation. The fall is about 20 feet tall. It needed about another week to fully form and is melting now.
Bill, JD and Tony had the first ascent of Flatrock Cherry. it was short, but it was real ice climbing in Kansas.
For ice climbing in Kansas wait for about two weeks of 0 to 10 degree weather and find the waterfall two miles from the Elk City trailhead. There is closer access on a dirt road.

I have recently moved to Kansas and am not familiar with any local ice climbs, but are you familiar with any decent sport climbing or bouldering in the state? I've been to Rock City and found it interesting, but would like something more challenging.

Thanks and good luck finding some ice; it seems like a mild winter this year. Cheers~

ice climbing is an unusal event here. it takes special weather. maybe once in 10 years. there is some chossy limestone at Elk City Lake that can be climbed. it is at the overlook and at mile two from the dam on the Elk River Hiking trail. the other rock is marked no tresspassing. people usually go to OK to climb.
