can kinda see why they got cited, i mean they are climbing RIGHT next to a 4 lane interstate. The last thing we need is more distracted drivers watching these guys climb instead of the traffic ahead of them. But i do kinda hope the judge goes light on 'em.

Don't know if it's the same in Ohio, but climbing on road cuts is illegal in Idaho. Looks like they had a fun time.

When a faint line of ice and frozen turf was climbed on the rock below Edinburgh Castle, the FA and his belayer were arrested. The route (which I don't think has been repeated, although it might be in condition this winter) was called "Breach of the Peace." This was back in the late 1980s, I believe.

That is awesome. I'm glad the gene pool hasn't been totally cleansed of people that are immune to the effects of society. I'd frame the citation, have a laugh and start planning my next summit bid. That is sweet!

Unbelievable that these people actually got charges filed. The only danger would be distracting some dumb driver, But why do we put up billboards?? For stupid people to stare at them while they are driving. I think its some of the comments on that article that really piss me off, "THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP FOR A LONG TIME!!" Come the fuck on people... Someone said "OMG THEY MIGHT SLIDE DOWN INTO TRAFFIC!" But the base of the climb is like 25 feet away from the road... Our society is truly disgusting.

Their mistake was doing it in broad daylight. Should have hit it at night.

I'm not much of an ice climber but that looked pretty boring to me. Is that what all the hype is about?

Tradklime who used to post here got busted climbing the waterfall in Idaho Springs. It's a mandatory court appearance. When the judge had him and (now ex)wife stand up and said "You have been charged with climbing the waterfall, how do you plead", the entire courtroom snickered.

If they would have hiked in I think they would have been fine. The car parked on the side of the road brought unneeded attention to the area.
