I'll call up to Giant City to figure out what's going on. According to their website a lot of the park was shut down from the storm they had...in MAY 09! There should be no reason for it to be closed this long.

ya... and that place.. i'd rather go to a gym. Good that Giant City is still open. One day I'm confidant that Eric can reopen Drapers. as soon as IL changes it's laws.

My question is why are you so worried about shelter one with the amount of climbing in SOILL? Shelter one is alright but come on.

This is true, I grew up in southern illinois and it will be a sad day when I go home and cannot climb. So is it the whole park or just shelter one?

From what Chappy said, they posted on the internets that Shelter 1 was closed due to a storm but reopened later. The state never updated their site that it was open again.

Sweet. I guess the reason I like going there is if I'm limited on time, due to my schedule, it's easier to do a day trip there.

shrug7 wrote: ya... and that place.. i'd rather go to a gym. Hard to image, is it more about about clipping bolts and being able to dog or about the movement? If about the movement, then those overhanging GC TR routes are pure joy even if you can't hang on them.
