Adam Falls at Lynn Run saturday... There is an oak limb over the falls that you can tie into and swing a good distance. I had a cold so we just took pictures this time.

After not climbing for 2 years, and 3 months, I'm back in the game. I've been out of state, focusing on my career and family. About a week ago I just couldn't take it anymore and started looking at my climbing books. Pretty soon I'm planning trips for this year, routes I want to climb, and next thing I know I'm back on RC.com. I'm planning a trip to Red River Gorge, climb a bunch of moderates to really get back in the swing of things. Sent PM to Charley, hopefully he's interested. If not, I will probably be looking for a partner that is willing to put up with someone that took at 2+ year break.

My son, who is 3 1/2 is psyched about climbing and has been begging me to go for a year now. Can't wait to take him bouldering.

Anyway, looking forward to a great year in 2010 and glad to be back. Feels like a long lost friend I haven't seen in years.

It's not that high, about the same as the top rope room at TCW i think.. next weekend i might look for the waterfall at ohiopyle and an old growth hemlock at laurel hill.

Anyone out on local rock today? If I felt better, I would have checked out the mill today.

I wonder how much snow is left at the mill. Would like to get out bouldering but the snow is still pretty deep here!

I'm heading down tomorrow morning, I'll let you know. I live about 20 minutes north of the McConnell Mills and our snow is pretty much gone.

There is still A LOT of snow in the Laurel Highlands. Snowshoed into Schoolhouse yesterday in very sloppy conditions. Most of the wall was very wet with the exception of Firefly. Water was pouring down from the wall... We'll have to wait a bit on this one Frown I'm guessing everything else in the nearby area is quite wet as well. Skiing is still good though!

I hadn't heard of Schoolhouse before or any climbing at Ohiopyle. Is the climbing similar to Lost Crag? Or other places around Dunbar area?

I was at the mill yesterday and there was 3" of snow still melting. Water was running everywhere. The only place I saw fit to climb was the h&r wall and that only half way up. It;s going to be awhile til things dry up. It is sposed to rain soon. I think I'm going to head south for 10 days or so.

I was also wondering about ohiopyle. I was planning on stopping there for some quick climbs as a break on a long drive. Would it be worth it? Any other good areas some one might recommend in that vicinity and reasonably close to 70? Bouldering, top rope, sport; don't matter to me...

I'll have a trailer with me so I was looking for some camping/climbing that was somewhat paved.

A lot different than the lost crag. More like New River Gorge climbing. Long steep sport climbs. Some moderates. Beautiful setting. Need more info. check routes database or get in touch with me.

Hi everyone. First post to the forum so I figured I'd drop in and say hello.

I'm just getting back to climbing after a few months of downtime. Anyone interested in heading to the Mills Friday afternoon or anywhere in Western PA Saturday?

PM me if you're interested.

We were climbing up at Breakneck on tuesday and seem to have left a few draws there. Just checking to see if anybody had found them and would like to return them. Thanks
