I'm going to be in Austin next week for SXSW and will be in need of a break from the music scene and yes, I know that's difficult to believe given the fantastical event that it is. I've heard great things about the Austin area but have yet to boulder there and would like to find some good people to hang with. If you are interested in meeting up or have any tips, by all means, hook a brother up.
Cheers,
Chuck

Hey man, you need to go check out the greenbelt. Great climbing all up and down it. I'll be up at Reimers the weekend of the 13th. You make it you can hook up with us.

Do yourself a favor during Southby and get away from the downtown crowds: McKinney Falls if you have a car and a couple of hours. If you're on a bike, the Greenbelt is fine, but the creek has been running all season, so avoid the crossings if you have the chance - If you go to the Gus Fruh or 360 parking areas, expect to encouter 2-1/2 to 4 foot deep water at the shallowest.

Wow... the creek is up and running, huh? That's great. I know we've had about eight times the amount of rain so far this year compared to last. I'm sure Austin is similar.

We were going to come down to Austin next week but found out about the Southbysouthwest... now, we're postponing our trip a week. Heh!

Yep, it's been flowing pretty well for 6 months or so. What will you be doing in Austin? I am unemployed, you know...

Visiting mainly, for a couple of days... just to get away from the outback a little. Perhaps climb for one or a part of a day.

Unemployemnt is great for climbing!

Thanks for the invite but I don't get into town until the 16th and leaving on the 21st. Do you happen to know of anyone or any place to borrow/rent a crash pad?
Thanks,
Chuck

Thanks for the tips. I'm there mainly for music but not necessarily for SXSW exclusively, more for the spin offs as those sound more my speed and taste. Know of anyone I could borrow a crash pad from or a place I could rent one?
Thanks,
Chuck

BTW, I tried posting to erockonline but I get errors every time and can't find a way around it--even with the help that's suggested.

Did you sign up? I think you can only post to the forums if you sign up.

Btw, Rob, we are most likely heading to Austin for a couple of days around the 25th-27th or so, if you're up for a climb on limestone.
