Hi, I'm asking this as a favor for my wife. She's interested in getting some new pants for exercising (perhaps for bouldering in the gym as well). She really likes the Lulu Lemon pants but prefers the price tag on the REI OTX pants (which she hasn't tried on). Anyone have any comparisons?

Anyone have any comparisons? for climbing, i prefer anything with a flat waistband and that covers my knees. for bouldering, i don't know that it would matter. dark colors show swampass less.

don't know about the pants but i have an otx shirt and i love it. the fabric is tough wearing. looking at the pants they are similar to the lululemon and priced less. lululemon is nice, but the price, i just can't buy at that cost

I was afraid that it resulted in amputation of the ass. I don't get swampass, but I do get a black smear on my right side from the rope rubbing during rappel. Darker colors & lighter material seems to work well. Can't really speak to the OP's question about the brand in general. I have no brand loyalty & just go with what is affordable & comfortable.

I just start heading North when it starts getting hot like that. Though my light beige shorts are mess after climbing this weekend. Had to deal with some cliff seepage and the need to clean my hands.

Maybe this is a good euphemism for swampass.

Hah! I get swampass too. Mountain biking in the humid Ohio summer proves to procure the worst swampass though. I love lululemon anything. One major problem with their pants? She will probably have to get them shortened. I have to get all of my lululemon pants hemmed and I am 5'5. REI makes great clothes. I would go with Prana or Patagonia pants though...they are most similar to lululemon but slightly cheaper. Those pants are investment...they last forever.
