So I'm climbing in my first comp in early May. It's a bouldering comp. I'm more doing this for fun and to mix it up.

But, I still want to actually train for it. So what are some suggestions of how to train for comp besides just bouldering all the time.

gracias

Early May, so you have what, two weeks? I would recommend that you boulder all the time for those two weeks.

Seriously though it's two weeks away you don't have time to do anything at this point anyway. I guess since comps are usually pretty long do a few sessions of redpointing hard problems for 2 or 3 hours.

The main thing I would do is be sure to take a rest day or two right before the competition, as there's no point in going into it already tired or sore. So, if, for example, the comp is on a Saturday, I wouldn't climb at all on Friday and do very little if any climbing on Thursday.

I don't have any advice about training, but make sure you win. There is no room for losers in this sport. Climb hard or don't even bother showing up.
