Hi folks,
Have received word that peregrines are nesting this season on the Sunset Walls ridgeline; thus, this area is closed to climbing until June 18, 2010. Notices are posted at the trailheads and near the junction of the Saddle Trail and Old Rag/Weakley Hollow fire road.
And indeed, my partner and I heard the scream of a peregrine while climbing above on Sunshine Buttress on April 3...

The current signs say June 14th but the talk now is the 1st as the area is looking more like a roost instead of a nesting area. We saw a pair hanging out in mid/upper sunset and just above in the beginning of April.
