New to climbing and looking for another noob somewhere in the general vicinity of the middle of BC, with whom to evolve in climbing skill. Or maybe even a very patient not-so-noob to teach me the ropes. Willing to travel along the Highway 16 corridor to the rock, within reason and as my work schedule and bank account allow. I did a two-day basic climbing course last summer at Skaha and managed to get out to top rope a couple of times, but still need a lot of work on confidence and technique. Living in the flat BC central plateau of farmland with a dearth of climbers, indoor climbing walls, and... well... rock, can make things a bit challenging. Throw in a late 30-something female with a full time job, free of children, bitten by a pre-midlife crisis of wanting adventure but can't convince her friends to join in, and the challenge gets more challenging. So I thought it wouldn't hurt to just throw my plea out there and see what happens. Thanks for reading!

Sounds a bit like the 'Hoof (Vanderhoof) to me. There is a fairly large and diverse group of climbers that rock out around the Peeg/Central BC region. I would say that they are more than accepting of any and all climbers and skill levels. You can send me a PM if you want, if you want to get some details or beta in the area. And if you are ever near, you could hook up with us for a day. Cheers.
