It looks and reads very similarly to the crack climbing chapter in Freedom of the Hills. I wonder if it's the same author.

I just looked at my copy of FOTH, and it is very soft on any sort of hand jamming technique. Of course this lead me to inspect the publication date where I found that I was a proud owner of the second edition, printed in 1967 (I would have been 6 years old at the time...) How that stamp from my old college library got on there is a mystery to me. I wonder what the overdue charges on something like that are?

Cool - Dale Bard is a character. Last time I spoke with him he was at Petzl USA, anyone know what he's up to now?
