The closest areas that I've been to for you would be Looking Glass Rock which is just north of Brevard, NC, Lost Wall near La Fayette, GA or the Chattanooga area. There may be some stuff closer to you in western NC but I'm not that familiar with that area. P.S. Looks like you aren't too far from Tallulah Gorge in N. GA. Have you looked here? http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/North_America/United_States/Georgia/Georgia_North/

http://www.southeastclimbing.com/...lina/panthertown.htm Panthertown Valley has scary runout trad and mixed climbing. About an hour from you. If you are into bouldering, Rumbling Bald is 2.5 hours away but well worth the drive. Pick up a guidebook. There's also trad and bits of sport there. More amazing trad and decent bouldering at Looking Glass near Brevard, NC, ~2 hrs away. Longer trips to Foster Falls, Obed, T-Wall, and Stone fort in TN. Also Sandrock in GA. There's definitely more. Pick up a Dixie Cragger's Atlas or area guidebooks.
