For those of you that are getting into the trad game or need to replace your old worn out ones...

You can now get the popular nylon Tricam set (pink, red, brown, blue) with the newer small black and white sizes:

http://www.camp-usa.com/.../tricam-set-1051.asp

CAMP has also put together a big web page (with lots of text) on the use of Tricams.

Not sure I would want to trust the white one for free climbing. I added the black to my rack last year though, and it's true: once you go black, you never go back.

this is awesome. i was really excited when they came out with the smaller sizes and my tiny black tricam has become my go-to piece for tiny horizontals. i have yet to pick up the white one though. this 6 piece set is the perfect size kit for tricams.

Almost, the perfect set would also include the #5, #6 and #7. Mega Tricams FTW!!!!
Cool

Actually, I'd really like to add the black and white to the rack at some point.

If I didn't already own a double set I'd be rockin this set.

You've gotta get the black and white Acorneau. They're just ridiculously useful.

I believe they are in nylon only.

I believe they are in nylon only.

considering that you likely will repeatedly load and flex the sling, nylon is the way to go imo since those high tech materials have been shown to loose strength faster with load cycling and flex.

The white works great when combined with other pro for oppositional and/or multidirectional placements. The little stinger on that thing bites pretty hard.

Awesome. I don't know that I need a double set, though, or that I'd have much use for the white one. It's not all that strong. I love my tricams, though, and am thinking about getting the 2.5 because of one potential useful placement on a route I love.

Picked up a #0.25 Black for my SLC trip this past week. Placed it once and think it's a great addition to the rack.
