On Friday evening, July 2, I will be driving back to Minneapolis from Pierre, SD and I would like to camp at Blue Mounds State Park (SW corner of Minnesota) for 2-3 days of climbing. There are routes of all levels, mostly top rope but some trad lead, too. Let me know if you are interested - Dan

I will be in Blue Mounds that weekend. I am very new to climbing, (only indoors,) but have most of my own gear. If you want to help a newbie, send me a message.

If you haven't made reservations for a campsite you might consider doing that beforehand on the state parks website. I just checked their site and there's still plenty of spots available but it might be full by the time you arrive. d.

Ben, Certainly - we can stick with some popular top rope routes. Webbing, slings, hexes, nuts, and cams would help. I'm trying to round up a couple of more folks from the Twin Cities - the more the merrier. BTW - where would you be coming from? Email me directly please. Thanks for replying - Dan

Blue Mounds State Park will let you camp in their "overflow" area for the night, which is actually the park area next to the beach. They just ask that you take down your camp site in the morning so that folks using the area don't have to avoid your tent and stuff. They also have a bunch of sites that cannot be reserved and are meant for folks who just show up.
