I am curious if there has been a study as to how long it takes for a dynamic rope to recover it's elasticity after a fall? Parameters would be the severity of the fall and the time required to recover XX% of it's original elasticity. I could see some nice graphs coming out of this. Have any of the rope manufacturers done this?

I'm finding that many climbers have assumptions about this and I am reminded of Douglas Adams comment that "Assumptions are the things we don't know we are making".
