I just moved to Venice Italy and will be living here for the upcoming year. I am interested in finding out everything I can about the climbing/bouldering (both indoor and outdoor) around me. I know there is a wall in Padova and possibly also one in Mestre which is much closer, but it seems that all the outdoor climbing is further away. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!
Outdoors:
just south of Padova you have a sport climbing area called "Rocca Pendice".
Schievenin is a limestone valley just off the road running from Montebelluna (where I live) north to Feltre. It's one of the best sport climbing areas around, with routes at all grades. Also lots of trad climbing to be discovered, cos almost every line has been bolted. Not much bouldering to be had..

Indoors: Treviso
Definitely head over to the "Sportler" shop, right next to the "Treviso South" motorway exit. They have the biggest indoor climbing wall I've seen locally. No membership necessary. Just turn up & climb. I think they hire gear as well.

You can also go to Lumignano, maybe a 30 minute drive from Venice. Maybe about 100+ routes. I live 10 minutes from there and try to go out there weekly. There is maybe 1 or 2 multi-pitch routes there, but for the most part a 70 meter rope with quick draws is all you would need. All the routes are protected.
I also go to the Dolomites for Via Ferrata's if you are interested.

I found an awesome climbing gym, King Rock in Verona. It might be a little bit of a drive for you and it gets pretty crowded. There are maybe 60 routes with a bouldering section upstairs. The routes range from 2a to insanely difficult. You definitely need a buddy, there is no self belay system, unless you are just going bouldering. Almost all of the routes are lead climbable, half are top roped.

I am native and Resident of Treviso.
Well. www.montegrappa.org you find something for few years.
Then crowded gyms are Sportler in Silea and of course www.kingrock.it
I am near Bassano, Castelfranco Vento, and from Bassano we claim to have 2000 pitches in 35 km ray. Name another place like that if you can.
From Venice (serious????) you need to drive.
Schivenine and Rocca Pendice are what we call "vecchie".
