Why do all of the site pages still say NameMedia on them? Why weren't the users told??? WTF??? I assume that is this Trevor, and related to this.

Maybe Trevor, the guy who founded this site bought it back.

When did this happen and who the hell are they? What is DDT's relationship to them? Are there any other users involved with the Trevor Company? Why do all of the site pages still say NameMedia on them? Why weren't the users told??? WTF??? So let me get this straight. An unemployed and self proclaimed gear guru who may or may not have an engineering degree in a field related to mechanics (?) uses his vast experience in top roping 5.8s to ascend to the coveted position of moderator on rc.noob so that he can rule the Lab from his mighty perch. He then bans people who disagree with his suspect conclusions, and adopts a passthepitonspete approach to posting with lots of hot links and pretty colors to reinforce his total command of the subject area. Finally, he has a means to validate writing in the "Likes" section of his high school yearbook "rock climbing." Near as I can figure, he then oversteps the boundaries of his position of power and is called out on in, refuses to back down, and is eventually told to take a slightly less powerful (?) position as moderator of just the Lab. This is so distasteful, this public stripping away of title, that he takes all his toys and then runs away. Or does he? No, he remains lurking and posting more about how he is leaving and how he has been wronged than he posted back in the good old days of his moderating empire. All this while arguing legalities with people whose collective knowledge of the law includes watching several years back episodes of Law & Order. Now he is on a mission to tear down the false God of RC by exposing hidden conspiracies that will eat away at the soft pink underbelly of the site's very core. Bravo! What's next, will he go around the country sticking used lollypops in the hair of RC account holders? Best wear your helmets out there!

I suspect the person at Namemedia may have given you incorrect information. Did you get her last name and do you know in which department she's employed? Feel free to PM me any relevant info and I can follow up with NameMedia to find out what's up. DDT

How do you so quickly get from "Look what I just discovered...", to "I just want to know who...", to "Apparently it is DDT"? Literally, in just minutes, not to mention that you are basically calling DDT a liar.

So, you are calling him a liar? Yoda: "Of emotions, careful you should be... To the darkside it leads, consumed by them you will be."

Because it only took a few minutes to go from speaking with Christina at NameMedia, to posting about wanting to know who to call to move this up the food chain from DDT, to reading Mojomonkey's post and put 2+2 together realize that DDT was less than truthful about the transfer of operations of RC back to him? Isn't exactly rocket science. I think your post frequency has actually gone up since you "left" the site. Curt

The conspiracy nut in me wants to thing that JT is part of the Trevor Company and therefore has carte blanche to do as he pleases here without fear of sanction by management. Sorry, I just had to quote that. Curt

The only thing you missed is his current recent interest in finding out who the site owner actually is. He needs to know where to send his letter, threatening a nonsensical lawsuit, over the site's refusal to accommodate his request to erase every trace of his precious content. Curt

I'm still not sure how exactly to interpret this... are you (still) saying I'm lying to you? Anyway, I'll be more than happy to provide you with the name(s) of contact people you can talk to if you wanted to send this "up the chain", so to speak. Just PM me if you want me to do this. BTW, the confusion may stem from the fact that NameMedia actually consist of different "businesses". You may have been speaking to someone in their domain trading business (which is the largest) without any knowledge of their "enthusiast network" of which rockclimbing.com is a part. Check out this page. DDT

I can't believe Aric is deleting these S&F posts, but I did find this little nugget on the NameMedia website concerning RC.com users.
