get with the Karst Cafe(first choice) or 2 doors down at China Climb. there's usually a bunch of climbers hanging out there that'll be more than happy to take you out to some places. you should have pretty good luck picking up a Yangshuo climbing guide from the Karst Cafe from Echo. if you hang out there for more than an hour, you'll bump into some Canadians, Americans or other westerners getting ready to go somewhere.
