we did the northern walk off from the case route mon. it sucked. is there a trail at all, or is it a total bushwack?

Everything I've ever been told is plan to rap or prepare to bushwhack like there's no tomorrow! There is no "descent path" on either end and they probably wouldn't endure anyway due to lack of traffic and constant blow down, etc..
