Ah, that would explain why you didn't question it.
I find that interesting. Upon reflection, I could see a gym allowing it with the automatic belay brakes, but I'm just surprised that the ever-present insurance ogre would allow it with more mainstream devices.

What are you talking about? All Jay did was point out that the OP would get better responses by making a readable post. I am continually amazed how people here get their panties tied in a knot by simple statements of fact. Are y'all really so thin-skinned and incapable of self-reflection?

Well, hypothetically, one might counter that Grammar Nazis are "underappreciated" no matter how right they are. Suppose your writing isn't the greatest (ahem), and maybe you're a little sensitive about that, and you work up the 'nad juice to post a question, and then the first thing you get is a nut-busting critique. That might tend to kick off an escalating overreaction.
In the future, you might consider gritting your teeth at the horrific capitalization and punctuation, and at least give the guy credit for apparently knowing how to spell check. after all you dont got no need for well writin to climb good

For better or for worse, the only way we have of assessing someone on the internet is by how they write and by the quality of their ideas/questions, as they appear to us.
Grammar, spelling, and coherency all contribute to the assessment and to our reaction to the post. (And I would like to believe that most of us do make allowances for folks who are apparently not native English speakers.)
