hey how is everyone doing, new guy here, and am very interested in getting my feet wet. i am in rockland NY, wondering if anyone else is, or knows of local spots. i read about the valley of boulders, and think i found the trail leading to it...but its about a 20 min drive and an hour hike for me to get there. once i find that, i guess thats my nearest spot to start learning...unless one of you fellows can tell me about some other spot

sknowlton wrote: http://www.tornevalleyclimbing.com/plinez-access.html i'm not sure whether to be super excited about this or really disapointed. i've been climbing here for nearly 2 years and have never seen another person here before. it's pretty awesome that there's a guide and that i can check out some routes i hadn't seen before but this will certainly make for a lot more traffic. oh well, that's progress i suppose. has anyone bought the guidebook? it says a lot about boulder problems, sport lines, and top ropes but does it say anything about lines that go on gear?

Well idk if its legal but i climb the cliffs right next to where i live, its high tor state park just park off old route 304 follow the trail up to the peak and there are some pretty good spots to climb. id say grade 1-2 class 1-5 climbs and if you dont feel like that the gunktz arent to far away( remember idk if high tor is legal or not)
