Have you tried the Rab version? Everything Patagonia on me has a really baggy back (I dunno if you can picture that) but Rab fits like a glove. Their equivalent:

A medium in the down sweater will not feel like a slim fit--it is way boxier than other jackets in the same size.

I live by a Patagonia Outlet....I have had much time to lust over try things on.....Cool

For cheap clothes, try Sierra Trading Post (http://sierratradingpost.com). They have a few stores out west. You'll have to pick through the merchandise to find your size, but their prices can be excellent (I got a $285 kayaking drytop for $57 once). Email me and I might even be able to send you an additional coupon if you're shopping on line soon.

Thanks, Kathy. I won't be shopping online though. For now I have to scrimp, scrimp, scrimp! Once I see that Swanky(the van's name) makes it x-country, then I can breathe a little easier....hahahah.

Tomorrow he goes to Beak's Auto to get a check-up. I don't think what he really wants is a new pair of Patagonia pants, though.....

I absolutely LOVE my down sweater. I purchased one the first year they were released and I wear it ALL THE TIME (including in my house during the winter).

I am 5'2" and I purchased a women's small. It's loose enough to give me total freedom of movement. Be careful when you wear this garment, the fabric is very thin. I do not use it as outwear per se. I wear it under my ski coat when it's cold, I wear a Techwick shirt over it if I am going to climb in it.

here's an update. the hubby came through and got me the limited edition patagucci down sweater for xmas. i'm in love!! i did have the mont bell version, but the patagonia is so much lighter and has a closer fit. the mont bell has a boxier feel. i wear it under my ski shell, as an outer layer when i need a light jacket.

it's a really sweet jacket!!

you're right Gail, i wear mine around the house too!!

It's the best. Now I have to see if I can get another one as mine is starting to leak feathers. Be careful wearing it in the woods, it's easily snagable.
