am an avid trad climber from Laramie Wyo. Some friends and I are planning a trip north on the Ice Fields Parkway 11/19/10-11/24/10. My freind and I have two years ice climbing experience and have lead around 20-30 WI2-WI3 with a few short WI4s. Any suggestions on early season routes or a decent guide book? Also we won free plane tickets to Yellowknife and were hoping to get on some ice that may be flowing into Great Slave Lake (11/24/10-1128/10)....Have you ever heard of any routes around Yellowknife? Please hollar with advise and if you will be around during this time...Also if your ever in Wyo I got a belay and place to crash. Cheers

Guidebook is out of print. Not much in the way of non horizontal ice around Yellowknife. You could try to switch your ticket to Whitehorse... Tones up there. PM me for more local CDN Rockies details. (Back to work)
