Perhaps you could describe your experience to us. I have $5.00 saying that you fail to reasonably back-up your claim.

In reply to: I have $5.00 saying that you fail to reasonably back-up your claim +1. In fact, i can provide a personal experience where the customer service at Metolius went above and beyond expectations.

Well there you have it gerbil, put up or shut up, or man up or gerbil up, or get out the fire resistant suit and hang on to your ass with both hands and tell us what your beef is with the great and holy Met. Burly Bob

Are you retracting the cam before you place it or are you doing the n00b stunt of just shoving it into a crack? If you're complaining about them wearing out too fast, I suspect the latter.

Metolius gear has always been in my experience pretty above par in their trad gear. The only thing I don't like about Metolius is the Kevlar trigger wires on their master cams, and how when you twist the trigger it can retract the lobes. But other than that, Metolius has always been great, probably just as good as BD. What's the deal? Oh, i forgot to mention one other product Metolius SUCKS at making. Chalk. Metolius super chalk is the worst chalk I've ever come across

Well let's see. In the past 20+ years of climbing I've owned just about everything and anything you can imagine at one time or another. All of my metolius cams are still on my rack and have never needed a new trigger wire. Every single BD cam I own have had at least 3 trigger wire replacements. I've only replaced a few on my rigid friends. I'm guessing you don't know what you're talking about. My guess is you called metolius and acted like an ass and they said sorry, bye bye.

I have a lot of Metolius stuff and I love all of it. They even made a custom, left handed gear sling for me--no extra charge. That is great customer service!

I've had a Metolius cam rip. I'm pretty sure it was user error. This was ca. 20 years ago. That cam is still on my rack. One of my favorite pieces is a M. #0 TCU of the same vintage. Of course, other people may well have different experiences.

I love my TCU's and Mastercams, and I've been pretty happy with Metolius. But to be fair, I have two Mastercams that are less than 8 months old and on both of them the Kevlar trigger cord has already started to fray. Thus far, it doesn't seem as durable as wires.

Oh oh Ill join in. Ok Metolius cams I own. 00-4 TCU 5,6 power cam 4,5,6 master cam so far all of it as performed very well. Caught every fall with out pulling out and still operate nice and smooth. Had the triggers and slings replaced on the two power cams last year. my experience had been good. Customer service was excellent. I still don't know about the Kevlar trigger wires on the masters, but so far after two seasons they are going just fine. In conclusion gerbil is a troll

Not one explanation yet of why you think Met sucks? Come on man. By not responding you're making yourself look really bad. What cam did Metolius ram up your ass that you hate them so much?

The only story I could think of that would possibly give Gerbil a pass would be: He had a Metolius cam with a damaged trigger wire or something. He sent it in to Metolius to be repaired and they found it to be more broken then Gerbil thought, so they confiscated it. Gerbil didn't get his cam back so he came to bitch and moan about it here.
