Last time we were there, we stayed at the Super 8 in Yucca Valley. About 15-20 minutes from the park entrance, like $55 a night. Clean rooms, microwave, fridge and free continental breakfast and wifi. Down side was the karaoke bar that was blasting outside speakers until 2AM every night, if you get there get a room on the side facing the Sizzler. This upcoming trip we are going to try the High Desert Motel, right outside the park at 61310 Hwy 62. They just quoted me $45 a night, free internet and fridge and microwaves are available. And we found a 10% off flyer at one of the gas stations.

The desert view in yucca is dumpy, but they will five a deal on multiple days. Last month we got 4 days for $35 a night. Right across from the Starbucks and mc. Donalds. Again, place isnt fancy, but pretty clean, and the price is right. That said, the high desert is the place to stay if you can, but it fills up sometimes.

When not camping, mostly stay at Oasis of Eden since they have rooms with a workable kitchen so can prepare breakfast and dinner in comfort. Older place in fairly decent condition. r.c

Have you tried staying there recently?? It seems like one guy gets a site for his 14 day limit, and then gets his buddy to use his 14 days, and the same group will have a site for the entire season. I guess I'm just not cool enough to run with that crowd. We usually stay at the jtree lake campground. Seven miles out of town, showers, flushies and $15 a night. A slight hassle, but I'm getting old and prefer a little comfort.

If you're not actually interested in being part of 'the scene' it's not so hard to get a campsite.
