I'm doing a lot of ski touring and on occasion I need to bring crampons. So whats the best way to store these in my back so if I take a spill I don't stab my self in the back? I've Been putting then spikes facing away from me and my heavier jacket between them and the back of my pack. I also don't want to rip my pack up. Ideas? Or am I just over thinking it?

put the crampons together points at each other.. then put em in your pack stuffing them down the outside.

If you find a way to stab yourself or really mess up your pack doing that.. I'll be impressed.

Course you could strap em on the back of your pack if worried about the stuff in the pack.

what he said ... if yr worried wrap em in a spare base layer/fleece, or get a durable stuff sack

no need for a special crampon bag

As said above, sandwich together, points facing each other, front points facing opposite directions, use straps to tie them together. Ideally you have an attachment point on the outside of you pack to attach them and keep them handy. If you don't need them handy and would rather have them in the pack, I will throw them in my pack wrapped in a pair of gaiters.

Good answers, all of these. This is how climbers have been safely packing crampons for decades.
