Hey all. So Im looking for a fairly inexpensive hangboard. Firstly, I understand that by going cheaper I am sacrificing some versatility, variety, etc. So you dont need to tell me. ;) Anyways, my current options are the ETCH HERA, soILL Blister, Power Source Training board (found on climbingholds.com), and the metolius Project. Im leaning towards the HERA because it looks like it has the best slopers, but I would love to know what you guys think. Thanks!

I like my friend's Blister from So Ill, and Metolius makes great boards. But I would go with that Hera personally. It looks simple and awesome for the price.

Depends on what type of hold you want to train on..
Metolious is a safe bet... but depends what you want from a training perspective.

I want something with variety. Slopers are probably the biggest priority tho.

Then probably not the metolius. Its a much better board for training pockets, although its kind of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

Just screw some wood bars (different depths and sloups and angles etc) on bigger wood board/plank. You can also screw bigger slouppers on it like half logs (half round) with different sizes. And if you want pocket you can just drill big enough holes on it.
Make sure those wood pieces are polished so you dont get splinters :) Thats cheap AND variable, unlike those plastic models.

a chunk of wood is good as long as you make it right.
Currently the least expensive hangboard on the market,
and certainly not the cheapest in terms of quality...
Actually very cool and way better than most other hangboards imho...

I really the modular approach of these, as you can simply screw them in a different angle and get a whole new set of grips. You can even offset them.
