I can't find "Bonnie's Roof" in the routes database. I'm sure it is it there somewhere. But the search feature doesn't turn it up for Bonnie or Bonnie's, and "roof" returns over 700 hits. That is all.

I found it, by going to The Gunks, then to The Trapps, then looking at photos until I saw one I could tell was of Bonnie's Roof, then clicking on it, seeing that fortunately it had been linked to the route, clicked on that, and VOILA! Bonnie's Roof! No amount of using the search box brought me there, though. Two conclusions: 1. Yelling at noobs "Search Function!!!11 " is not appropriate. 2. There is a reason that more and more, people are linking to mountainproject's routes database on this site everytime they are describing a route.

The search function for the site is...worthless. At best. Instead, I tend to use Google and search within the domain. bonnie's roof site:rockclimbing.com Putting that query in to google pulled up bonnie's roof in the route database as the first result.

Yes, thanks for the feedback. I think the problem is that the search engine is trying to match "exact words" by default - see advanced search form here: http://www.rockclimbing.com/...in/routes/search.cgi Thus, a search with the exact phrasing (e.g. "Bonnie's Roof" with the quotation marks) returns the correct result. If the option is changed to "find similar words", a regular search without quotation marks also works, as is generally expected. I will change the default setting. DDT
