Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows the best price online for round base T-nuts (3 screw). I am building a large home wall and looking to buy a larger quantity (10000). I have checked cheap holds and three ball climbing.

Thanks

Go to a distributor who deals in fasteners. Fastenal would be a good place to start. You might be able to find a distributor close to you as well. If you're buying in that quantity it would make sense to eliminate the middle man.

You might have to make some phone calls since alot of these types of companies are a little behind the times when it comes to the internet. (Although fastenal's site is OK)

10,000 tnuts for a home wall? Really?

4Tnuts per sf would be very generous (industry standard is about 2.5/sf).

10000Tnuts
---------- = 2500sf
4Tnuts/sf

10000Tnuts
---------- = 4000sf
2.5Tnuts/sf

That's not a home wall... you could sell memberships to that gym.Smile

Ya heard wrong.

I love mcmaster carr for many many reasons but they are not going to get you the best deal on large quantities of standard issue parts.

Thanks for the info. I've only bought small quantities of anything from McMaster-Carr and remembered hearing people recommend them many years ago for t-buts. I now know not to recommend them to anyone.

I hope the OP posts where he gets them once he finds a good deal.

Dave

This look like a good deal already:

http://cgi.ebay.com/600-Industrial-T-nuts-Climbing-Holds-/310160693738?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item48370499ea

I would imagine if you get in touch with the seller and negotiate 10000 the price would be even lower per unit.

I actually would be interested in finding out what is the best bargain you get. =)

We most definitely offer discounts for large orders (5,000 or more). If anyone has questions, please don't hesitate to email us!

Really...? Why would you even know this.? I'm impressed. Any other tidbits of information.. It had crossed my mind to do the same. So far it looks like 3,000-6,000 sq.ft but at this point will just play & test it out. And, yes, I've got about 6,000 sq.ft of space I'm not using.

yeah, i think home walls must be like narcotics. with narcotics the first hit is always free. with home walls the first four by eight is pretty cheap.

once you've got the pad of graph paper out, you've gotta know you have a problem.

when your immediate family starts attending climb-anon meetings, an intervention is just around the corner.

you'll get through it man, we've all got faith in you.
