Incident: Heel hooking on a ceiling. The injury was to the my left leg. I had it hooked on a jug with my toes pointing away from me, and my heel was perhaps a foot and a half away from my chest. Maybe two feet. I went to clip the last draw, thought I got it in, and asked for my belayer to take. I quickly realized that I didn't actually have the draw clipped. I shouted down to my belayer not to take, lest he pull me off. He didn't really get the message right away, and I ended up resisting his pull with my left leg's heel hook and right hand. Once he realized what was up, he gave me slack, and I finally clipped. Somewhere in there (definitely sometime after he started taking in rope) I heard a definite popping sound. Symptoms: As I was lowered, it didn't feel any "pain," but my knee area just felt really really weird. I was lowered into a chair (conveniently enough), and sat there for a few minutes after untying. I stood up and was able to walk around fine enough. I did three laps on a route that was ~3 grades easier, and called it a day (not because of the injury, just because we'd been there for long enough). The route I did 3 laps on has an initial vertical face (no pain during the part), but then begins to steepen until it becomes a roof. As the steepness increased and I had to pull more with my hamstring & toe, I noticed a tightness near where my hamstring and knee ligaments meet. The rest of the night I lazied around, not doing much of anything. At one point I got up after sitting around for about an hour and a half, and kinda laughed at how stiff my knee/lower hamstring felt upon getting up and walking (I wouldn't call it "painful" though). Now this morning it seems much worse. There's no constant pain if I'm sitting down or standing straight up. If I'm walking after I've been sitting down for a while, I'll feel pain (if I walk more than 20 meters I can walk 100% fine). The pain is in the area between my PCL and LCL. The most noticeable time I feel pain is when I'm walking, just as I'm coming off my toes and lift up my foot to bring it forward. I haven't noticed any swelling, and there's no bruising anywhere. Concerns: Does this sound like a standard RICE situation? Should I keep off of it as much as possible (and limp when I have to walk) or should I try to be doing laps around my workplace every half hour?
