Are you ready for Rockfest 2011? In 2009, over 100 climbers and outdoor enthusiasts got together to clean-up overlooks on Skyline Drive. They removed over 2 TONS of trash, partied and camped at a private campground in the park, and Sunday they explored the boulders, cliffs and forest of Shenandoah. Rockfest 2011 is shaping up to be even bigger and better! April 15th-17th 2011, we will be hosting the 2nd Shenandoah Rockfest in association with Shenandoah National Park Services, at Pinnacle Research Station in Shenandoah. This year’s clean up with focus on trash pick on the scenic overlook as well as some climbing spots in the area. Breakfast will be provided Saturday and Sunday morning as well as dinner Saturday night and camping will be free both Friday and Saturday nights at the Pinnacle Research Station. Events before and after the cleanup will include a Leave No Trace workshop, raffle, live music as well as a silent auction on great outdoor gear, with all proceeds going to help Mid-Atlantic Climbers for future events. All registered volunteers will gain free entry into the park and receive a free Rockfest shirt! Details are still coming in, including our amazing sponsors, so check the website http://www.midatlanticclimbers.org/rockfest often for updates. Alternatively, follow us on facebook or twitter to be notified of details as they come. Questions? Interested in helping out? Register by emailing rockfest@midatlanticclimbers.org or RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/...?eid=174440852599205.
