To all San Diego climbers: Please help make our presence known by showing up at the Mission Trails Regional Park open house this Thursday from 6-9pm. We had an OK climber turnout at the last one, but it could definitely be better. This is a very important time for our feedback since they are in the process of rewriting the master plan. Their first draft banned climbing everywhere in MTRP except the main wall. Historically, there were many climbing areas other than the main wall such as the bouldering by the river, Kwaay Paay Mtn, and the old quarry which gets afternoon shade. Also of importance, housing development in the area of the Santee boulders will be progressing. We're unsure what, if any, impact this will have on the bouldering area but apparently half of the land was donated to MTRP to manage and we should let our presence known as the main user group. If you'd like more information on this, please contact myself, ACSD, or MTRP. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, Josh Higgins
