Facebook- George Orwell's 1984

But worse, every piece of information is collected sold to advertisers, CIA, FBI, they know where you live, what you read, your likes and dislikes, schools, work, bank accounts, social security numbers, your data is being collected and used for any purpose that is can be sold.
Your privacy is gone, Facebook is not altruistic, not your friend, your open behavior is being exploited in every endeavor. What you read , what you write.

So why are you giving up your privacy, for what benefit?

I've believed for some time now that we need to call this time in human history "the age of the cell phone camera". Facebook its but another wrinkle in this.

Just as the gun first enabled colonialism, then became its downfall; so too has tracking information become first the friend of bullying and is now causing its downfall. From large to small no small act of oppression goes unfilmed. Once filmed spread and shared, violence can not be verbally defended our dismissed as nothing. Without the denial, ongoing violence can not exist.

As an example, Kobe Bryant is now 100,000 dollars poorer for calling a ref a "fucking faggot." 20 years ago no one notices. We are getting that much better that fast.

You know you can change those settings on FB so none of that information gets out right? Then again unlike you Iím not stupid enough to post up my SS number and bank account info on Facebook.

As for them reading everything you write . . . well itís social networking site, if you don't want other to see it don't post it. Unsure

kobe bryant raped a woman. bad analogy!

Facebook is much more insidious, and wiser.

A cell ? yes goggle can plot your location to the person who calls you.

but Facebook is 1984 but with technical advantages, they know everything you read, your family, they have your photos and with that they can find you everywhere.
the government, its agencies uses them , and pays them nicely. For starters.....

How about you stay off RC.com. I mean if you're worried about all your information being out there to steal you should probably stop posting here and take down your profile with it's photos, address, and personal e-mail.

So you are worried that a government that can't prove a simple rape case or find one man in Pakistan can somehow mine the mass of data that is facebook to get what kernel of information to impact you how?

Facebook is a scam . Every person that's on that is fair game to be used , abused, and you have no privacy. Your information is sold not just to advertisers , but anyone who wants it and will pay for it. Whatever you read is passed on, your family pictures, your work, every detail.
It is bought by the fbi. cia and police, unknowingly data bases are stored , compiled and sold.
Yes , I don't like that.
Facebook makes money how? thats how, it would be more honest to have an advertisement for toothpaste.
Of course if you want to be on Facebook, go ahead.
Prisoners friend people and come after their families and victims too
. Facebook is not a place for friends.
Theres a telephone , or meeting in person. or a letter.
Hey did you read George Orwell's 1984?
