Climbing iPhone Apps (Mount Nemo)

I've recently downloaded the Rock Climber's Grade Converter on the app store, a free converter that does what it needs to, and I see the same developer has released an app that appears to be a guidebook for climbing at Mount Nemo in Southern Ontario. At 5 bucks, given that what exists for a guidebook is more expensive and less useful, I figured I'd download it and it actually is kinda cool.

I wonder if anyone is using any other climbing apps, maybe guidebooks for other areas?

Most smart phones have PDF readers on them and you can download TOPOs in PDF format. My friend does this for all his multipitches and says he loves it.

I would assume there is an app that allows the user to read PDFs from their phone. I don't own an iPhone though so I really don't know (I dislike apple).

Like 'em or not, they make beautiful devices that work very well, and they are as bleeding edge as anyone when it comes to mobile devices.

And as was pointed out, while Android is catching up, iOS is the biggest mobile development platform...period.

Anyway this Mount Nemo app is actually pretty sweet with GPS coordinates for all routes, and a cool map overlay thing that looks like it would make it really easy to get to and from routes. I haven't gone out to the crag yet but I may check it out this weekend.

Yes the iPhone has built in PDF viewing capabilities.

Anyone know of any really good PDF topos?

If anybody's coming to the New River Rendezvous, we're trying to get app ready for 'Vous attendees to download.

Sweet - will the app be a guidebook of sorts?
When will it be available?

Have fun with that... Mount Nemo is cold and dark on a good day. With the over 30mm of rain forecast for Saturday and the showers called for on Sunday, I'd recommend holding off.

Anyone use the Alpinist app for iPhone? I can't find any reviews... So I'm hesitant to spend the $10.00 per issue
