I know you folks don't have much control over what ads get served, but can you tell your adserver that the Resolve carpet cleaner (laundry detergent, I don't know, I mute it too quickly to find out) ad needs to be muted by default. I don't like having to find which tab is interfering with my youtube session as punishment for letting a link load in the background.

Sounds like a fair complaint. We try to keep the ads as un-intrusive as possible. I will see if we can do something about that particular ad.
If you can get the URL of the ad if you come across it, please post it here, it will help the length it takes for us to get it (possibly) removed.
