REAL ROCK CLIMBING TRIP: A Day at Devils Lake, Wisconsin with Xtreme Plex instructors

Take those indoor wall climbing skills you have perfected to the outdoors this summer and climb with the Xtreme Plex staff at Devils Lake State Park, Wisconsin. July 9th, 7AM start with following day July 10th as rain date.

Cost will be $75.00 for a half day of top rope climbing (about 3 hours) or $125 per person for a full day (up to 6 hours). We need a minimum of 3 climbers to

guarantee this price. Less than 3 min. will increase the price.

Harness, ropes, helmet and climbing gear are included along with your staff to belay. See Xtreme Plex staff before trip if you want to size up and rent some climbing shoes for the day. Sturdy footwear is suggested to hike and climb in if you don't rent climbing shoes.

Climbers will meet up with the staff at the CCC parking lot on south shore of Devils Lake State Park, near Baraboo Wisconsin. A map and direction information will be provided to you. We will hike up the CCC trail and climb some moderate routes to start, and move on to a more difficult one if time and energy allow. Climbing again on Sunday can be arranged if desired for an additional fee. Camping or lodging nearby will be your decision and costs, but range in price from about $10-$16 We will meet at the park on Saturday for our 7AM hike.

Additional costs to expect also include meals(see meal options below) and a Wisconsin State Park vehicle sticker for each day you are in the park. This trip will give you the chance to climb on real rock, in the best location anywhere within 300 miles of Chicago area. Devils Lake is about a 4 hour drive from the south suburban area. After climbing, you will be able to take a cool dip in clean Devils Lake, rent kayaks from the park concession stand, or hike trails.

The Baraboo area has several campgrounds and motels available. Reservations for camping at the state park itself are difficult to get, as they are often completely booked way ahead for most summer weekends. See additional cabin lodging and Flying up in an airplane option below.

An equipment list of suggested items to bring will be made available when you make a deposit for the trip. $50 deposit is required. Check with Joel at the Xtreme Plex as soon as possible if you have an interest in this chance to get out and climb the real thing- ROCK!

FLY TO YOUR CABIN GET-A-WAY TO CLIMB!

Cabin Lodging: $25/night extra- $50. If you desire the cabin option you may also fly up with one of our climbers who owns a plane. He has 2(maybe 3) seats available. Your flight share cost will be $65 addl. for the round trip flight to the cabin per person. This also includes transportation to the climbing location in his vehicle. The airplane lands on an airstrip right at the cabin. We have a pool table, B-ball, air hockey, and over 120 wooded acres to explore.

Cabin will sleep up to 10 and we will be guests of our climber friend who has generously opened his cabin up for this trip. Cabin is secluded but well appointed with a great rustic feel.

Relaxing Sauna to soak the pains away after a day of climbing. 4 wheeling on Sunday or a kayak trip on the Baraboo River is available if you are not too sore from the climbing the day before....

Meals: Trail lunch- $10. Food for the wknd. at the cabin is available for $15 per guest. Includes in-flight soft drinks.
