I am taking a trip from memphis and would love to do some bouldering or sportclimbing in the best places AR has to offer. I would appreciate any suggestions

horseshoe canyon ranch has tons of sport and a good amount of bouldering plus lots of other climbing in the area within a hour or so drive

How long are you comming for? Are you going to be limited to a certain location? what time of year?
Are you going to have partners?
If you are coming specifically to climb w/ or w/o partners Horseshoe Canyon is definitely the place to go. There is prob. a weeks worth of climbing. Its a little hard to get to but its also close to Sam's Throne which is another Arkansas Great. These Two are prob. the best/most accessible places in Ark.
Other than that in Northwest AR there is Fern Gully near Mulberry and Lincoln Lake near Fayetteville both are fairly small but good if you are locked into a location. If your comming b-4 it warms up you'll have to climb at a gym (One in Sprindale, One in Fayetteville)

Depending on the weather, don't forget about Mt. Magazine, AR! This is the tallest point in Arkansas and also offers a few nice routes. I guess it all depends on how far you're willing to go off of I-40 though!

Honestly you could be in Horseshoe for a week and hardly even touch the surface of all the sport lines out there! Not to mention great bouldering and some limited but quality Trad lines, it truly is a great spot...however I prefer Sam's throne, for the remoteness, the beauty, the FREE camping and a truer Arkansas experience. There are no bolts at Sam's, easy top access on most routes so it's either Top rope or Trad at Sams. With that said IMO both places should be a must do for anybody that loves to play in the vertical! Only 6 hours from mid Missouri where I am, I make it down there several times a year.

Its a little hard to get to
What? It's SH 7 N. to SH 74 W. Now if you are in are in a car and going down the ranch road can be a bit scary.
