Boulder climber going to Ethiopia for 4 weeks mid-september to mid-october. I know this is obscure and a long shot...BUT...500 ft sandstone towers. And there's a guidebook: http://www.majkaburhardt.com/vertical-ethiopia-primary/ So, thrill heads, travel lovers, recently fired? Pretty sure this is all trad. Also, northern ethiopia is supposed to be freakin' gorgeous! And hostels can be had for under $10 a day if you're into some cultural touring. $20 a day is a reasonable traveler's budget. Flight from east coast looking at 1200-1500 to Addis Ababa. FYI-Can bus south and into kenya if you want to extend your trip. Visas easy at airport for ethiopia and low hassle at land border crossing with Kenya, on into Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania.
