Looking to do a trip here in OCT. Does anybody know how the climbing is here during the time period? Also any bouldering areas here as well?

Pilot Mtn. is usually SUPERB in October, which is well-known locally, so the cliffs can be crowded on weekends. When leaves are thought to be coloring, the summit parking lot will fill on weekends; but climbers typically are there early enough (hint). Usually little rain, wonderful temperatures. Pilot has one excellent boulder, called 'Trailside Boulder' because it is beside upper Ledge Springs Trail, 200 yards below Three Bears Gully. There are others, depending on what you call a boulder and how far you will walk. You can see photos at http://www.ClimbPilotNC.us and all the active climbing routes. If that website leaves you with any questions, do let me know by pm. .
