A mate of mine related a story of him as a teacher on an outdoor ed camp. Him and another teacher were just settling down for the night and a knock was heard on the tent flap. Sir, came the whispered inquiry. I've got a problem. K come in, what is it. I've got a tick and it's on the end of my old fella. Can ya help me get it off.
My mate tells me that he swore the kid to secrecy and the teachers also agreed never to speak of this again. The kid was never gunna tell because of the absolute grief he would have gotten out of the rest of the class. He whipped it out and the teachers whipped the tick off.
Sufficient time had gone past when my mate had got around to telling me the story that the kid had moved on and there was never any fear that the kid could ever have been identified and my mate would never ever reveal the name anyway.
Another student on outdoor ed camp ended up with a leech on her eyeball. Nasty.
