Due to lightning overhead, my partner left behind a #10 BD nut at the top of Fool on a Hill at Crow Hill yesterday. Although, I went back for it this evening, someone had already made a booty claim on it, so it wasn't there. If you have it, I will buy you a beer if you give it back. Or I will give you two cold Yeunglings from the case I picked up in New Paltz last weekend. Thanks, Brian

Brian --- The hell with the nut. Bring both the beers with you tomorrow. You carry both. Use one as chock and thread it on the pipe pitch crack instead of a cam. (Yeah I know, not the same size as the #10). I will dig the other one out of your pack and drink it when we top out. Glad I could be of assistance in your hour of need --- Bill

So, ignore my post if you aren't interested, but I just moved to Boston and in need of climbing partners. I'm an intermediate level female climber itching to get outside more. This thread seemed, more or less, like the best place to post. I boulder, sport climb, and want to learn to trad, but have yet to make that jump. Been to Rumney a couple times but I can't make that trip every weekend (unfortunately) and looking to climb closer to Boston. Message me if you want to climb.

Hi Joe, First - glad to hear that you are on the mends. I am a RN who has worked a TBI unit before and I know the difficulties that you have faced. Kudos to you for all your efforts, healing and getting back into doing what you love to do.... Where is Rumnney? My GF and I have done some climbing in Western Mass....mostly top roping....she is a Noob and I am just getting back into it after being out of the sport for many years....

The Swangunks in New Platz is one of the mecca's of climbing here as are the Adirondacks as well. Both offer good top roping.

Message me if you want to climb. this thread has languished as a partner resource over the last few years, buit if you check meetup.com you'll find several local groups. the boston group is quite active. I just read this entire thread from my accident on 8/20/09, right thru to the end. 2 years worth, only about 20 pages of thread. I fixed the picture links.

Hey MC-ers, It's been a while (years) since I've been on here, and it's comforting to still recognize some folks. Sorry for the spam, but I have a set of unused Metolius wood climbing holds (qty 5) that I won at a bouldering comp a few years ago. I remembered there were some Mass climbers who had home walls and wondered if anyone here would be interested in them. I'm thinking $20 and looking to avoid the hassle of shipping them. I can send a pic if you're interested. PM me. Anyway, quick update...I am pretty much a once a week gym climber now, trying to maintain some climbign strength and dreaming of being able to really get out and climb. My bf has kind of fallen out of love with climbing, so makes it more difficult to really get out on the rocks. Weekends are now filled with sailing, hiking, cycling. I'm still clinging tightly to my bouldering pad though in hopes I'll make it to Hammond Pond or Lincoln Woods sometime soon. Also, how is climbing at QQ these days? The last I remember a couple years ago, there was a lot of graffiti that had popped up making some of the routes rather annoyingly slick. I've been thinking of getting back out there this summer... Joanna

QQ is said to not be legally climbable. but hell get out to the pond some weeks instead of the gym. My daughter got me climbing again by picking on my belly. LOL, might work for you to get the BF back out there.
