Hi everybody, I am a brasilian rock climber and I will go to USA (Washington and Maryland) next september. If is possible, can anyone direct me to a climging area near this region? I need some partner too, so...... Thanks a lot, Mauro Chiara

Check out patapscorock.blogspot.com too. The directions to rocks in Indy's guide can be a little shaky, but if you combine it with John Kelbel's site, you'll be able to find everything. Indy's Climb Maryland book is very good and includes a lot of stuff that isn't on his site. If you'll be climbing at Carderock/Great Falls (which are almost inside DC city limits), the small guide books for each side of the river are necessities. Maryland has a lot of 35-65 foot crags, and most people top rope. Relatively few routes are bolted, and bolting new routes is pretty much off limits anywhere that you might be climbing.
