You should probably just move to Europe because Americans just can't climb that hard.

There are plenty out there!

Or he might be looking for someone who wants to dirtbag some of the best bouldering in the world for a month. I have a friend who just got back from spending around 8 months in and around font. Goddam is he strong right now.

Why don't you just go by yourself. I've never been to Font but spent plenty of time in Hueco and there were lots of strong climber flying solo. I'd imagine you'd link up with a group easily enough.

For starters you can stop bitching about how no one climbs hard enough to get you psyched. I'm not trying to be a hater, just giving you honest advice. Complaining about only being able to climb with v6 climbers is no way to make friends.

I totally understand how you feel, as many of my best climbing friends either climb a lot easier or a lot harder than I do, and I rarely get to work on a project with someone of the same ability. I often have to watch someone warm up on my project before I can unlock the route. But that's life man, and life ain't bad.

Stop being jealous of the pros and their posses and be thankful that you have the opportunity to go to Font for a 4th trip! And I second the "go solo" comment. Don't worry if you don't send everything or climb as hard as you'd like. Go over there and have a good time, meet some new people, learn French, etc. It doesn't sound like this will be your last trip and the boulders aren't going anywhere...

I thought about doing this, but how do i make this offer well received?

It's funny, because i just put down the book 9 out of 10 climbers make the same mistakes, and guess what one of the first things he talks about is?

It's having motivating climbing partners and that the best ones are the ones with positive attitudes who want to see you improve that are better than you or someone so close to you, gradewise, that you have friendly competition. This is what I want. That's all.

I'm not sure about that one...

I do my best when I'm with new people, when anything is possible.

Hanging out with the same people, we all tend to just get lazy, and make excuses every time we come up short.

Having a new partner, regardless of if they're strong or weak, you push yourself a little further, kinda to show off, and kinda because you don't care if you fuck it up, you have no pride to protect.

Inform the friends that's in order for you to treat air fare they need to HELP with food lodging drinks. And deff stay highly motivated, if you send most of the problems you have in mind it might make it worth it .

I have resits this summer then school all year. Unsure
Have fun, though. If I free some time up it's not out of the question. I will, however, be one of those V6 punters who holds you back Tongue

All I can say is this, I climb harder when I climb with people who are working the same problem and we are both close to doing it.

=I want to climb with ppl like that. That's the entire thought process in my brain, lol. So don't read into it that much. It's not like I haven't had fun with v6 folks, I have, but it's not optimal for ME when it comes to performance.

It's even better to get a whole crew, that's the best. Some of my fondest bouldering days is with 4 or 5 people, working the same problems, all day.

More=better energy

Oh, I totally agree. Although I also like climbing with people much better then me, cuz I get all psyched up and stuff that is hard for me becomes easier in my mind. I also pick p good habits/technique pretty quick, seemingly just from proximity.

I also like climbing with people better than me. It inspires and motivates me. I also tend to get great input on things I can improve on. That being said I can see how being that one stronger climber might tough.
