OK..I've gotta know - with all the miles of coastline and various lakes we have in SoCal...has anyone found a good spot for deep water soloing in Southern California? if so, tell me where!

Lox: maybe, but if its over water, WHO CARES? a little surprise dip if that hold breaks...

hehe, but i can c how that would get on ur nerves, falling b/c its chossy shiz.

there is probably (definately, just dont't remember exactly where) some DWS in NH... some cliff jumping places, one is called "Sculptured Rocks", looks like it could have a few nice slopey lines if the rock isn't all wet. I'll check it out when i head up there this summer. it is like 10 min. from Rumney. there are other places, but i forget where they are.

So, I'm watching the History Channel tonight... a show about ice trucking in the N.W. Territories... and they talk about Great Slave Lake. I drop the name into Google to learn more and... whoa!

http://www.legendaryex.com/tours/kayaking_great_slave.html

If I had a few grand to blow, and 12 days free... I'd be sooooo there.

Anyway there's a photo on the page of some beautiful lakeside rock. I bet that water is pretty chilly! Incentive not to fall.

Enjoy

Any Washingtonians have any places to deep water solo in WA? I've always wanted to try it, but never really seen a good place to do it. It looked to me like there might be some in the Columbia River Gorge, but I'm not sure...

only water soloing (that i know of) in socal is bouldering over swimming holes. It's more like shallow-water bouldering than deep-water soloing.

Has anyone created a climbing wall over a pool yet? I'd think it could be pretty fun.

Pics from a trip last year at Summersville Lake WV; http://homepage.mac.com/slcliffdiver/Climbing/Summersvile_Pics.html it takes a loooong time to load with a slow connection but I think the pics are worth it. Hey Will are you the Will that I was talking with earlier? I'm a bit unsure because your profile puts you in NC. If so could you e-mail me the pics from the trip that are ready when you can. I'm really psyced to see them.

You like climbing on cliffs. Well Hawaii has some immense coast lines with some large cliffs and caves. At various cliff jumping spots I have found you can climb out of the cave ina 30 move problem. You top out at about 35-40 feet but you jump from about 50. ITs quite fun, but its just like doing highballs except the landings are a little better in the ocean , depending on your height and the way you fall!

How about Lake Powell, here in Utah/Arizona? It's got all kinds of crazy cliffs over deep water. Does anyone here know about any in that area? I've always wanted to try it, but have never gotten around to it. The water would be pretty warm during the summer too.

Hey Wakeclimber, welcome to rc.com. Usually people don't reply to thread that are over 8 years old, it's kinda just a thing around here. The posted date is just to the left of the post. Smile

Climbing over a pool would be neat, though, but it would have to be a pretty deep pool and the surface might be tauter then the sea or other bodies of water with more movement/dissolved gases. Harder landing.

p.s. STFU, YOREGUNNADIE, n00b, etc.etc.

really ? are you gonna stop new people from joining your special playground? Are you gonna scare everyone away making them think climbers on here are a bunch of sarcastic jerks? YOU did make a great welcome up to the end. Had I not had time to start to understand your humor I would think your trying hard to be a jerk and fit in. Or win the banz pool .

I wasn't being sarcastic, I was actually saying welcome, and letting him know that if he checks the date on the left he can see what date the post weas made at. I guess I have been spending too much time on another forum where we start any message to a new comer with "welcome".

I put the smiley in there on purpose to let the dude know I was being friendly.

Shit, maybe I should just go back to posting "Shit, I dunno! LOL!" or "fuck ewe!" on every fucking thread so people will get off my fucking back and go back to bitching about me in dedicated campground threads.
