Or people with 1/2 a clue spray from the hip without carefully considering what they are writing. Some of the most respected denizens here are consistently guilty of that. All another facet of instant gratification I guess.

Please finish this sentence: Farley _____.

Just curious where the facts may lie in this instance.

Only God is perfect - ALL humans make mistakes - God forbid someone says SOMETHING that might be a bit inaccurate! Jesus...what nitpickers! Is that how we wants Noobs seeing those of us with greater experience then they?

I both succeeded and did not succeed on dws's of of pins back in the day. Falling off from thirty five feet didn't seem so bad, since the local townies who swam there were always jumping off the top anyway- right over our heads as we climbed.

A bit inaccurate?? "quoting" a guidebook a)is extremely out of date b) does not even say what he said..

"God" is myth. keep your shit to yourself.

Experienced folks want noobs to keep their ears open and their mouths shut and learn something instead of spewing misinformation.

HOW do keep our ears open and or mouths shut if what jt wrote is true? Shouldn't we keep our eyes open and sit on our hands resisting the urge to type, instead.?

please take this as a bit of a joke , the point got made and I do understand it's validity

I can't believe that I am moderating in the Mass Climbers thread, but here I am! I just hid 3 posts here. Do not personally attack each other over religion or anything else. And if you quote an inappropriate post, your post will be hidden.

Play nice, folks!

I was smart and went to Rumney Wed-thurs to avoid the crowds. Didn't accomplish much climbingwise.. i've been trad climbing and riding too much and it's definitely taken it's toll on my sport climbing.

Gunna be there for a week aug 15-21 so maybe that will fix it ;)

Also hiked the Mt Tripyramid trail loop friday.. 11mi in 5hr 15 then rode 34mi yesterday. aiming for 47mi today with the group. will put me over 500mi for the month.

Hmm... so you mean that those people who believe in God make the smart decision not to write about it or solicit new believers, because they're smart enough to know that doing so will only create conflict?

Would that it were so!

IIRC, the last one was about Quincy Quarries, too!

QQ was also the impetus to get this thread started, and also helped create the community. I first met Core, Julia, Jake, Larry H, Jeremy, Rob, Wide, and others at QQ.

Maybe it should be renamed the QQ thread, LOL!

That's because when all you flatlanders honk your horn and flip the bird from in front of your computer screen, it's like that tree that fell in the forest.

Tiff --- As far as I'm concerned it's all Eric's fault. Clearly he acted as the provocateur here. I think an instigator penalty is in order!!! He should be sent to the corner for a timeout!!!!

BTW --- anyone doing any climbing in between hammering the keyboard? Gunks yesterday. Very warm but kept moving. Disneyland, Alphonse, Loose Goose and Dog-Stick-Ridge. Dog-Stick-Ridge was exhilarating!! Translation: I got a bit sketched at the crux. Feet felt like they were buttering off. Consequences of peeling were not good. Screwed around getting two so-so pieces in before finally slotting a solid nut. Whew!!! Great route. Cannon previous three weekends trying to get mileage there anticipating stepping up to Vertigo sometime this year. Off to the Toulumne with Ed week of 9/3. Anyone going to be out there? --- Bill

Got to the 'Gunks with Rachel, Melanie, and Rob (sorry to have missed you Bill). Battled the heat but got on layback, p1 of YYYY, and p1 of loose goose. then did triple bulges. rachel did a lot of leading weekend and was far more confident than she has been in the past. she is getting much better and both finding and placing gear and trusting it. i was really proud of her.

speaking of triple bulges: where are the "white ovelaps / overhangs" on the second pitch? are they directly below the obvious tree ledge or are they to the climber's left and above the tree ledge? Lucander told me they were the latter while a guide at the bottom told me there were the former. I'm really curious to know.

Nice!

I've been doing a bit of hiking and biking since fucking up my finger. Did two more 14ers yesterday, along with one of the prettiest and most fun single days of hiking I can recall.

And Saturday was my first day back on rock since my accident. Successfully led a 5.3, a 5.4, and TRed a 5.6. Go me! Best thing is that I had a little soreness after, but mostly recovered by the next day. So I think I'm on the road to recovery!

GO
