Hi all, I'm from the UK and I'll be staying in Peoria as of next week for at least a month for work, anyone round the area to climb with? I mostly go bouldering and indoor bottom roping, and just started a little indoor leading. I'm about the F6 grades (or 5.10's). I had had a bad back injury 2 weeks ago (originally got told I had fractured 2 vertibrae but over a week later after a CT scan and 2 consultants got told there was no fractures) so basically I'll be recovering and training for a while. I heard there's an indoor wall at Bloomington? It's always nicer to climb with others... Andy, 24, M

i agree, the Red is a world class destination. a bit of a drive from peoria, but nonetheless its well worth it. b out 4.5 hrs north of peoria is Devil's Lake, wisconsin. the best destination for us corn town people(and closest). but as far as gyms are concerned, Upper Limits in bloomington is a great gym and offers alot of routes up to 120'. but, as said if your here for a month, try to check out the red.

Well, I've been here nearly a month already, but I'm not going back to the UK till the end of this month. I've been climbing at Upper Limits a lot and met plenty of people to climb with. I absolutely love the place, loads of good routes and problems and the coolest staff. Might have the chance to go to the Red this weekend, all a bit last minute and unplanned but I'd love to try and get there... Anyone on here going there this weekend?
