First post! new to this forum and to NJ. originally from Atlanta, moved to Jersey last November after completing my AT thru-hike. I got my start bouldering at Horsepens, sand rock, and boat rock down south. Not a lot of bouldering problems or areas near me, so i've been venturing out to fine my own. I have a very promising area with some decent rock, problems I think ranging from V0 to V6-8. Looking for a climbing partner or anyone who wants to give bouldering a shot, to help me develop this area. I have several pictures on FB I'll include a link to check em out. shoot me an email, reply here, or message me on FB. -Josh https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150261802244677.333593.623469676&l=580a8f9468&type=1

Hey John, I'm not in NJ and so I can't help you out. However I was curious and tried to check out your photos but the link does not work. Just a heads up there, dude.

If you just view the photos in the non-pop-up view (You gotta look at the album from album view then open one of the photos in a new tab) then you can right click on it and "copy image location". Then you can come back to this thread and paste the image location inbetween image tags {image}url_of_picture{/image}, but with [ instead of {. Then the images will just be inbedded in this thread. There are a fair number of people then lurk these forums that would be interested in seeing the photos, just out of curiosity.

How high are those boulders?

hey, pics look awesome. I live about an hour from Byram...I actually lived in Byram when I was a kid. I climb nearby in Allamuchy. Give me a holler. Have gear and a crash pad. Would love to join up and climb!

Was back out at the spot today. Got the first ascent on a problem I have named and rated Knee Jerker V2 if you use the link from the original post you can see 3 new pics posted. This spot has a ton of potential looking forward to working with NJROX to develop it further!

Nice find . Since your new to the area I would check out Haycock mountain by Ottsville. Which is a stones throw away from you. They might still be selling the guide book at Doylestown rock gym but I haven't been there for years as I now live in NH. If not I can send you a copy. Also the crew at North Summit Climbing Gym go there alot, you might be able to hook up and get a tour. Search for em on Fb.

Hey, it's only a short drive. Can't hurt to check it out, right? Maybe there's a classic or two sitting out there.

Cardboarddog, the spot in Byram is no where near Lake Hopatcong, its further up 80 and then almost to Andover via 206. The spot has potential.

It actually had some potential but needs a SERIOUS cleaning.
