I would put on your flame-proof suit in a hurry. This could get grim.

Do not, not not put a locker on a draw. Notice the full name of a "draw" is a "quickdraw", not a "fumble around for 7 seconds while you undo the gate with one hand draw".

Two wiregates would be fine. Wiregates are just as strong as solid gates. Personally I use DMM spectres on mine.

[quote "ranger86"Anyways heard people saying that with wire gates there is no gate flutter and just was curious is a wire gate as strong?
Why would you assume they're any weaker than that little pin that attaches a solid gate?

Got some Alpine draws and i'm a little confused on what clips to put on them. If I should do a locker and a wire gate or locker and (whatever you call the straight bar gate) or locker and another locker. New to this so bare with my vocabulary.

Anyways heard people saying that with wire gates there is no gate flutter and just was curious is a wire gate as strong? It just looks kinda weird or not to secure just looking at the thing. Can someone give me a rundown on if investing in wire gates is a good thing or bad thing for Alpine draws and Quick draws? I've noticed a lot of quick draws got wire gates on one end.

Could you clarify what you mean by a "Alpine draws". I'm picturing a 2ft sling with a couple biners on it tripled up for racking.

If what you've got are 2ft slings, go ahead and put what ever you want for biners on your runners. Most will use either 2 wire gates or a wire gate on the rope end with a straight gate on the gear end.

I've always have at least one runner with a locker on it.

Wire gate biners are just as strong as a solid gate biners for the most part.

You're probably not the only one with this question, we usually leave posts in place so that if someone else with the same problem looks around they can find their answer immediately.
