In reply to: "Washington, D.C., you'd think by now they'd get the message. An earthquake, a hurricane. Are you listening? The American people have done everything they can, and now it's time for an act of God and we're getting it," she said, drawing some laughs from her audience. I thought the hurricane was sign that the Tea Party was irrelevant.

You are making a big deal out of nothing. As her spokesperson said: "Obviously she was saying it in jest." That's just what politicians do after a disaster that causes billions in damages, destroys peoples homes, and kills a couple dozen people.

Well, its no like Bachman saying crazy shit that's probably offensive to a non-trivial fraction of the populace is that unusual. Hell, if she ever starts lagging in the polls, her handlers could just claim she was fuckin' with us the whole time and turn that shit around.

I'm starting to think maybe Bachmann and Perry have a point. I mean: tropical storms in Manhattan, record heat and drought in Texas. Maybe God is trying to send those politicians a message. One that goes like this: "Global warming is real, dumbshits, and if you don't do something about it, you're gonna get your ass kicked."
