So I have been climbing for the past 4-5 months; making some good progression completed my first V4 yesterday at my local rock climbing gym, I am taking a trip to NYC with my wife at the end of Oct and I was wanting to try and conquer this route while we were there. Anyone here ever attempted/completed the Polish Traverse at the Rat Rock in Central Park? Check out my vids on Youtube @ http://www.youtube.com/user/ncormier85?ob=5 Thanks in advance for the responses and advice on this particular route!

if youre gonna be in nyc why not just make the trip up to the gunks? central park stuff is contrived and pretty lame IMO. you have to be bored out of your skull to even put shoes on after you see all the 8 yr olds running and jumping around on that lowball choss

Bouldering in central park is not that bad, especially if you are there during the week, and wont have a car to get to the gunks or have a pad. The traverse is a lowball sure, but is fun, has a cool history and is a challenge at v5, though it will feel better at the end of october than it does now. There is also the worthless boulder at the north end that holds some good 4's and a 6.
