I currently live in Los Angeles and I am relatively new to climbing. I was wondering where a good place to go in order to learn and grow as a climber. The trip could be anywhere from 3 day weekend to a couple weeks. Im willing to go as far east as utah, north to the portland-ish, and south to the border. Any advice on some areas with some beginner climbs would be appreciated.

There is an incredible amount of climbing in so-cal, so no need to take a long road trip when you have years worth of climbing in your backyard, not to mention Yosemite. Are you going on a trip with a partner, or do you need a local where you can meet partners?

I have a partner who is a little bit better than me. I trust him with my life. It's not that I want to take a long trip, it's more so that I want to get out of so-cal for a bit. I'm looking for areas where we can grow and there is also a lot of beautiful landscape. We are planning to head up to Yosemite in October, hoping it won't be to cold by then.
